So many of life's memories involve sharing food with family and friends. Often a savory aroma or a simple taste can bring back recollections of loved ones and times spent together. It is important to me that my children will always be able to find the recipes that they grew up with.
My own collected recipes from family and friends are written down on recipe cards and stuffed into a huge handmade “recipe” box that my husband made. What a wonderful feeling it is to have the recipe in my hands and see the distinctive handwriting of someone I care about as I prepare my family's favourite dishes.
Even though each of my children won't be able to hold the actual recipe cards,they will however, have the recipes. The recipes themselves will serve up wonderful family memories.
